BIGS WITH BADGES
Bigs with Badges was started to help increase good will and connection between children in our community and the local police force, firefighters, sheriff's office, and other first-responders. These relationships can help build stronger bonds between law enforcement and the community they serve. Bigs will meet with their Little on a regular basis at the Little's school or in the community. The role of the mentor is to provide emotional support and encourage them to see their self-worth.
Bigs with Badges works to create an intentional partnership with BBBS and local agencies to help build bridges and strengthen relationships between first responders and the communities they serve. “Several of our first responders already work with young people, and many are already Bigs themselves,” Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. “This enhanced partnership with BBBS of South Alabama will help maximize their impact on our local youth and get more first responders involved. We appreciate everything the BBBS team does in the community, and we are also very excited to embark on a new partnership with them.”
